Friday, March 15, 2019 Gardiner, Montana Another good day. I finally got my phone-scope adapter working. It had been very tight attaching and detaching from the scope. So much that I've broken 2 trying to get them off. I used a different eye-relief piece on the scope today and the fit is much better. I got video of coyotes on the elk carcass: I've been looking for moose all week. Today, a man told me where he had seen some. Sure enough, there were 2: Finally, I found sleeping wolves. It's not much to look at, but this is the v iew through the scope. I've pointed out some of the wolves: This is my last day for this trip. I'm leaving for home tomorrow.

Thursday, March 14, 2019 Gardiner, Montana Another 3-dog day. Had coyotes and a fox at the carcass near the Lamar Bridge. No pictures of it today. The ram was back around the cliffs near the Lamar horse trailhead: Late in the morning, we watched 4 wolves moving along the skyline on Specimen Ridge.

Wednesday, March 13, 2019 Gardiner, Montana While the eastern parts of Wyoming and Colorado are getting pounded with a winter storm, we just had gray skies and a little wind. It wasn't very cold – just below freezing. The elk carcass was still attracting a fox and coyotes. This fox: was waiting for this coyote to finish: Not much else was happening, so I went back to town early. The weather is supposed to clear and be warmer for the next 2 days I'm here.

Monday March 11, 2019 Gardiner, Montana COLD!!! My truck thermometer showed -13F at one point this morning. Soon after, I saw a bunch of scopes in a turnout and pulled in. It was -12F !!! The people were watching the 8-mile wolf pack. They had an injured bison and were harassing it. But, it was kicking and actively defending itself,so they left and moved east about a mile before bedding down to nap the rest of the day. Later, I got some video of them up and moving around: I went looking for moose after that. Never found any. I did find bison on the road, at -5F: Some nice scenery: And a coyote feeding on a bighorn sheep carcass: Not a bad day, even if it was cold.

Sunday, March 10, 2019 Gardiner, Montana I'm back in Yellowstone for a week, if the weather holds. My general plan each winter is to watch the weather and, when a good week appears, come up here. Early last week, it appeared that this week would be good. By Friday, I had decided I would do it. Saturday morning, I made the hotel reservations in the Super 8 (because it's across from the grocery store) and by 3 pm, I was on the road. I drove half way Saturday evening and arrived here around 1:00 pm. Check-in isn't until 3:00, so I went into the park to see what I could find. Not much. Lots of bison on the roads and the only place they were apparently seeing wolves had no parking left. I did get a picture of a bighorn ram.
