Gardiner, Montana

COLD!!!

My truck thermometer showed -13F at one point this morning. Soon after, I saw a bunch of scopes in a turnout and pulled in. It was -12F !!!

The people were watching the 8-mile wolf pack. They had an injured bison and were harassing it. But, it was kicking and actively defending itself,so they left and moved east about a mile before bedding down to nap the rest of the day. Later, I got some video of them up and moving around:

I went looking for moose after that. Never found any. I did find bison on the road, at -5F:

Some nice scenery:

And a coyote feeding on a bighorn sheep carcass:

Not a bad day, even if it was cold.
